The inaugural Saturday Stroll event went off without a hitch. We have a great group of people working on these events to make them a success. The theme for the July event was "Summer Beach Party" and Nancy Poss, our Main Street Manager came up with some great themed prizes and gifts.
Many people stopped in the boutique during the event. Several of the people I met were from out of town. They had either read about it online, seen it in a newspaper or some just happened to be going through town and stopped.
The Free Rita's Ice was a big hit in the late afternoon along with the music at Mechanicstown Park on the town square. 
Tammy Green and the ladies from PNC worked hard to have some fun activities for children - I think their fingers are still sore from all of the cutting of craft supplies. The day seemed to be enjoyed by the yound and old!
Come visit us for the next Saturday Stroll, August 28th 1:00 - 5:00 pm. The theme for this event is "Stuff a Back Pack". There will be opportunities for school age children to get free school supplies. For those who do not have school age children, they can donate their stuffed pack back to Thurmont First, Inc. and they will be given to children in need of supplies. We will once again have great shopping at the local merchants and also along Main Street with visiting vendors and...Kona Ice will be here too!
